crooning. backed by a tire-strumming lullaby.
Thirteen crushed cowboy killers, a stack of
debit card receipts riding shotgun in the console
with a mega-size truck stop turbo joe.
Burnt heavy-lidded bloodshot eyes glow
in the hazy green of dash lights,
chasing that yellow line.

I agree with Jade - a great story in verse. Reminds me of a 1970s movie like "Eat My Dust." Also reminds me of Bukowski's writing.
